We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. 

About the role:

The Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst is responsible for the accurate preparation, analysis, and submission of complex regulatory reports for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced data management skills, and a high degree of attention to detail to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards. The successful candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and continuous learning.

About the qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with regulatory reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of one for following regulators (OSFI, CDIC, AMF)
  • Advanced level of Excel, and ability to work with data using tools including SQL and XML.
  • Good judgement and demonstrated sound decision-making skills, highly motivated and has a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Adaptable, flexible, innovative, and responsive to change.
  • Ability to grasp business concepts in a dynamic, fast paced and multi-entity environment.
  • Professional designation such as CPA or CFA equivalent training or experience.

About the day-to-day:

  • Prepare, review, and submit complex regulatory financial returns, including capital, liquidity, and other regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Extract, validate, consolidate, and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Lead and support special projects and process improvement initiatives, including the development of automated reporting solutions and implementation of regulatory change requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory reporting team members to manage reporting deliverables, prioritize competing deadlines, and provide cross-functional support and backup coverage as required.
  • Monitor, interpret, and apply new and existing regulatory guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing learning, knowledge sharing, and enhancement of reporting processes and controls.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and support regulatory inquiries, audits, and examinations as required.

    About the work environment: 

    Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

    Hiring process:

    Compensation:  

    The expected salary for this role is approximately $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
