About the Position:
The Officer, Corporate Philanthropy & Partnerships supports BC SPCA fundraising activities with companies of all sizes in various industries to achieve revenue targets. As part of the Philanthropy team within the organization’s Public Engagement & Advancement department, this position manages a portfolio of corporate prospects and leads the BC SPCA Corporate Volunteer program and identified campaigns (including but not limited to Lock-In for Love and Adopt-A-Kennel). Reporting to the Specialist, Corporate Philanthropy & Partnerships, this position supports the stewardship, prospect research and administrative duties within the Corporate portfolio.
Some specific duties:
Corporate Volunteer Program (30%):
Reviews and responds to volunteer enquiries in an efficient and timely manner.
Works with the Animal Center managers, assistant managers and other program staff to book and plan corporate volunteer days.
Leads Community Animal Centre tours in the lower mainland with prospective and current supporters.
Runs Many Paws Corporate Volunteer days to build relationships with volunteers. This includes collaborating with Centre Managers to plan the volunteer days and hosting the group on site.
Collaborates with the Communications team on content creation for Corporate Volunteer program promotion through social channels.
Ensures meaningful and timely stewardship with the volunteer group after their visit.
Liaises with the Volunteer Resources team on any issues that arise during the course of a corporate volunteering event, provides feedback and ideas on challenges/ opportunities regarding overall volunteer experience with the Corporate Volunteer program.
Completes necessary tracking/reporting related to Corporate Volunteer program.
Other Campaigns (30%):
In partnership with the Digital Giving team, co-leads the development and roll out of fundraising tools and provides coaching for Animal Centres on Champions for Animals (Third Party), Lock-In for Love, and other campaigns.
Stewards the Special Provincial Fundraising program (SPF) including, but not limited to, car donations and offline third-party fundraising.
In partnership with the Digital team, leads on and provides coaching to Center Managers for the Adopt a Kennel program.
Additional Support (40%):
Drafts and edits correspondence materials such as stewardship reports, thank you letters & cards, and grant applications for the Philanthropy team portfolios.
Coordinates and processes all corporate donations.
Attends meetings, as appropriate, with prospective and current supporters and corporate volunteers.
Conducts prospect research to identify potential new partners, donors and granting organizations in support of annual funding priorities and special projects.
Participates in relevant team, departmental and organizational staff meetings as required.
Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required.
Other duties as required.

Contributes to successfully meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department and organization and attend and contribute to departmental meetings as required.
Leads by example in professionalism and commitment to excellence.
Commits to making the BC SPCA a provincial leader in fundraising expertise and results.
Shows a commitment to continued education and learning as it relates to fundraising generally and peer to peer fundraising and events specifically.
Qualifications you need to have:
Post-secondary education plus 3-6 years of experience in fundraising or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage projects, meet priorities, and work within a high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated understanding of fundraising strategies and best practices, with specific experience with corporate giving programs.
Knowledge of the donor cycle with a focus on research, cultivation and stewardship.
Experience in working with volunteers, ideally in a leadership/coordination role.
Ability to accurately collect, record and analyze complex data to demonstrate success and uncover areas of concern.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a diverse audience of internal and external parties at all levels in a respectful manner.
Strong writing skills for donor communications.
Ability to work with established boundaries, able to identify when help is required, and demonstrated ability to ask for assistance when required.
A demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and very well organized while meeting priorities with minimal supervision.
Proven record delivering exceptional, prompt, friendly donor-centric service.
Familiarity with a CRM, ideally Raiser’s Edge.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
