We are looking for a Geotechnical Design Manger to join our global team of experts and work within a functional team that is responsible for performing engineering analysis, design, and technical reports and drawings for tunnels and various underground structures, such as deep shafts, cut-and-cover structures, and mined tunnels and caverns for metro transit, infrastructure, bridges, or hydroelectric power projects. In this role, you will be responsible for working with multidisciplinary teams and effectively managing and delivering your own tasks in terms of budget, quality, and timelines.
Initially, this position specifically supports COWI’s role as the Owner’s Engineer for the Immersed Tube Tunnel portion of the new Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP). The FRTP project, which will replace the existing Massey Tunnel between Richmond and Delta, near Vancouver, BC, is being delivered through a Progressive Design-Build procurement. The ideal candidate will be the Coordination Lead for the geotechnical and seismic disciplines. In this role, the Coordination Lead will support the FRTP Project Manager in coordinating between the Client and Design-Builder, and the COWI geotechnical team.
The position will require solid project management and technical skills and will provide opportunities to grow and develop leadership skills.
The position will be based in COWI’s North Vancouver office, and a significant portion of the time is expected to be spent in the Client’s project office, located in downtown Vancouver.

Our benefits include:
Base compensation: $128,000 to $198,000 for the North Vancouver office only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set, and location.
