Established in 1956, the Strathcona Hotel is a Victoria hospitality landmark, home to the Sticky Wicket Pub and Big Bad John’s Bar. Our Accounts Payable Manager is retiring and we need a replacement!
This position encompasses processing a diverse range of transactions on an accurate and timely basis. Invoicing and payment transactions will be delivered via paper, web, email, cheque, eft, credit card and e-transfer. Monthly reconciliations of various expense and payment categories will be required, as well as ad hoc reporting as requested by the Controller.
The Strathcona Hotel operates a hotel, liquor store and a variety of pubs and restaurants, all of which are served by a single Accounts Payable department meaning the data sources you will be handling are diverse.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Verifying transaction approvals, data entry, filing and payment of bills.
• Tracking, verifying and posting purchases made by staff members.
• Effective and timely liaising with Vendors to ensure trouble free relationships
• Bookkeeping for GST and PST on a timely and accurate basis
• Monthly reconciliation of credit cards, EFT payments and inventories.
• Reconciling complex statements
• Assisting other accounting team members and department heads with AP related issues
• Ordering of stationery as needed
• Other accounting tasks as required
