The 2026-27 faculty grid for this position is $75,461 to $116,035 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Master's will be paid at a higher range.

Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and culturally responsive EAL Specialist to support Upper School students in developing the academic English proficiency required for success across all subject areas. You will work with a diverse and multilingual student body, helping bridge the gap between language acquisition and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, scaffolded lessons integrating listening, speaking, reading, and writing
• Adapt grade-level content to ensure accessibility while maintaining intellectual rigor
• Collaborate with subject teachers through “push-in” support and professional development initiatives
• Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative tools
• Guide students through language acquisition milestones and transition readiness
• Contribute to co-curricular programmes, including clubs, athletics, or outdoor education
• Foster a learning environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, and well-being

Required Qualifications

• Legal entitlement to work in Canada
• British Columbia teaching certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or TESOL (Master’s preferred)
• 2–3 years of EAL teaching experience at the middle or secondary level
• Valid First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
