Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced Dimensional Inspector with advanced expertise in high‑precision measurement and naval structural fabrication. This position supports a major shipbuilding program and requires hands‑on dimensional control across multiple stages of fabrication.

You will perform dimensional inspections throughout the structural fabrication lifecycle—from early‑stage assemblies to final erection mapping—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with engineering standards.

Scope of Work

  • Conduct dimensional inspections on 2D/3D assemblies during naval structural fabrication.
  • Perform weld release inspections, 3D measurements, and erection mapping.
  • Verify structural geometry at various production stages.
  • Analyze and prepare dimensional reports using advanced metrology tools.
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, and production teams to maintain dimensional integrity

Additional Context

This requirement is specialized and technical, going beyond general surveillance or NDT inspection. It demands advanced dimensional control expertise suitable for complex naval projects.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands‑on experience with 3D measurement systems, including:
  • Total Station
  • Laser Tracker
  • Laser Scanner
  • High proficiency in dimensional analysis/CAD tools:
  • Spatial Analyzer (SA)
  • AutoCAD
  • Background in naval, marine, aerospace, heavy fabrication, or precision manufacturing preferred.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
